IIW International Diploma Qualification Diplomas

The IIW Qualification system has several types of professional qualifications covering welding, bonding and related techniques. These different technologies, as special processes, require that the quality of the product must be incorporated during the manufacturing/maintenance, and cannot be ensured only by final testing. That entails personnel with particular high level of knowledge, skills and competences which can be obtained through the IIW Qualification System.

IIW International Welder

Developed by the IIW to achieve harmonization in the training, examination and qualification of welders globally. The International Welder diploma holder combines comprehensive theory and high-end practical skills and is categorized at three different progressive levels i.e. fillet, plate and pipe welder.

Mechanized Welding

The Mechanized Welding qualification diploma is a recent addition to the family of welding personnel qualification diploma. The diploma qualifies personnel in welding industry on welding technology that is applicable to automated or mechanized welding processes.

IIW Welding Coordination Personnel

These qualification diplomas are offered at four different levels and is ideal for welding personnel who want to improve the productivity of welding in their companies by improving personnel knowledge of welding technology and quality control. This series of qualification diplomas are aimed at equipping personnel with the right combination of skills and technical knowledge to plan, execute, supervise and test welding operations to different depth as applicable to specific qualification level. The qualification diplomas are suitable for many different careers in the field of welding production operations across varying industries, including trainers and those involved in technical sales. The different levels of welding coordination qualification diplomas offered include:

IIW International Welding Practitioner (IIW IWP)
A candidate awarded the IIW IWS diploma after examination is expected to have basic knowledge and understanding of welding technology application to address common and regular welding challenges. He/She is expected to be adequately equipped with competence and skills to supervise and develop solutions to basic welding application operations and related activities.

IIW International Welding Technologist (IIW IWT)
A candidate awarded the IIW IWT diploma after examination is expected to have acquired overall knowledge and critical understanding of welding technology application. He/She is expected to be adequately equipped with knowledge and skills at a level that is required in the field of welding technology to address low level complex welding technology challenges.

IIW International Welding Specialist (IIW IWS)
A candidate awarded the IIW IWS diploma after examination is expected to have specialized knowledge and understanding of welding technology application to address common and regular welding challenges. He / she is expected to be adequately equipped with competence and skills to supervise the application of standards in welding application and related activities.

IIW International Welding Engineer (IIW IWE)
A candidate awarded the IIW IWE diploma after examination is expected to have advanced knowledge and critical understanding of welding technology application. He/She is expected to be adequately equipped with advanced competence and skills at a level that is required in the field of welding technology to demonstrate mastery and innovative abilities in the application of welding technology.

TWF Continental Qualification Diploma and Certifications

TWF Welder Diploma

TWF Certified Welding Inspector (WI)
TWF welding inspector qualification diplomas have been developed with a critical focus to addressing welding inspection responsibilities specific to industries in Africa. The scheme combines the exposure and experience of welding inspectors and managers towards addressing industry requirements for welding inspection personnel involved in a wide range of industries. Qualification as a Welding Inspector is an ideal platform to build a career in the welding industry. TWF Continental Fitter Diploma
Modern day industry responsibilities are critically task specific. TWF diploma in Fitting has been developed to achieve harmonization in the training, education, examination and qualification of fitters specific to industrial realities across Africa’s growing industries. TWF Welder diploma holder commands deep level practical skills in welding and is categorized at three levels i.e. structural, pipe/plumbing and Gas fitter.

TWF Pressure Vessel Inspector (In-service Inspector)
ideal for those involved in boiler and/or pressure vessel fabrication, repair or modification according to codes requirements. This course presents a deep and comprehensive approach to the development of competent persons across all necessary standards and codes. It offers a guaranteed channel to African countries to effectively professionalize the development of their national competent person qualification framework. This course is a key necessity for individuals wanting to become a certified Inspector of Pressurized Equipment (IPE) as national regulations mandated by different member countries.

IIW In-service Inspector

Ideal for those involved in boiler and/or pressure vessel fabrication, repair or modification according to codes requirements. Mandatory for individuals wanting to become a certified Inspector of Pressurized Equipment (IPE) as per Boiler Regulations mandated by the Director of Factories.

Weld Quality Management & Welding Coordination

Aimed at assisting those in welding coordination teams to understand the requirements of ISO 3834 such that they can implement the necessary processes as well as understand and familiarize themselves with their roles as stated in ISO 14731

Mechanized Welding

NIW National Diploma — Pipe Fitting

A Candidate awarded the NIW Diploma in Fitting Practices is expected to have acquired adequate knowledge and skills in the interpretation of design drawings and associated machining operations to ensure accurate material preparation in line with applicable codes and standards. The recipient of this diploma shall compulsorily demonstrate knowledge on the complete life cycle on fluid or liquid management. Whether as it concerns materials identification and selection, through interpretation and execution of design stipulations in work plans to assessment of varying forms of connections, fit-ups, HSE practices.

Specific Welder Qualification

Designed for those who want to improve and verify their skills in a certain area of welding. This scheme is tailored to the boiler and pressure vessels welder competence requirement whether the candidate is a beginner or a skilled welder.

NIIG-ANB Diploma - Weld Quality Management

This course aims at assisting those in welding coordination teams to understand the requirements of ISO 3834 such that they can implement the necessary processes as well as understand and familiarize themselves with their roles as stated in ISO 14731.
